Wow, Wow, Wow! Another awesome Dressage weekend!

We are just back from the Lakeland Dressage Association’s Spring Fling Show, and once again have some incredible news to report.   Attending this show were Alex Perry and Snickers, Andrea Knapp and Rosie, and Melody Schubert with R&R Ranch’s Olympic Knight.  Alex made the move permanently to training level and rode T1 and T2.  Her [...]

A Great Night at the American Invitational!

OK – so I’m a bit late in posting this, but we’ve been very busy with Spring Break camp.
Last Saturday (April 4th), over 100 students and parents from R&R Ranch attended the American Invitational.  This year, we were very fortunate to get seats right by the competitor’s section so we got to watch greats like [...]

What a weekend for our dressage riders!

The weekend before last weekend I had two students honored at the year end awards banquet for the Lakeland Dressage Association. If this past weekend was any indication, they are going to have to order more awards for my students!  I had three junior riders at the LDA schooling show on February 7th, and they [...]

R&R Riders are awesome at 4-H show!

I had seven students competing this weekend at the open 4-H show in Plant City.  Alex riding Timely, Britney riding Strawman, Alicia riding Teddy Tinman, Andrea riding Indian Nation, Christine riding Ginger, Jacki riding Nellie, and Courtney riding S’Khemo.  The 4-H shows are typically large events with 12-18 riders in every open class.  As their [...]

1/17 Games Camp was SO much fun!

Last weekend we had our second games camp day at the barn.  This event is like a games show in that the riders compete against each other on horseback in a variety of games such as “ride a buck” (riders have to hold dollar bills under their calves as long as possible – the last [...]

Isabella finally grows up

IF you have been to R&R Ranch, you’ve probably met Isabella.  As the youngest and tallest horse at the barn, she gets introduced to most visitors.  I have owned Isabella since she was two months old, and have spent A LOT of time working with her, hoping to get her to the point where I [...]

Horse shows, horse shows, horse shows!

This past weekend, Madi, Jacki, Kaitlin, and Britook their horses to the Hillsborough County 4-H English show and did an excellent job of representing the barn.   Bri was the big winner with multiple firsts and seconds in many large classes.   She and Vito have become quite the horse show professionals!  As it was their first time [...]

Show results are in! What a great weekend!

Well, our first show of the fall was a huge success for Alex and Kaila.  Both girls posted some of their best scores ever.  We ended the day with 3 first place ribbons, two second place ribbons, and two third place ribbons.  Not bad!  As an added plus, Kaila was awarded reserve champion for Intro [...]

Horse Show Season is finally here!

After a long, painfully hot summer, we are finally seeing signs of cooler weather, and that means it is time to break out the show clothes and clip the horses.  This weekend will be our first away show since early May.  Kaila and Finn along with Alex and Snickers will be attending the LDA Fall [...]
